Fix 1 — Replace batteries

LG Magic Remote uses 2 AA batteries (not AAA). Even partially drained batteries cause pointer jitter and voice failures. Replace with fresh AA batteries first.

Fix 2 — Re-register the remote

  1. Press Home button on the remote
  2. Point at TV from within 30cm
  3. Registration pop-up appears on screen
  4. Press Wheel/OK button to register
  5. Pointer should activate immediately

Fix 3 — Reset the remote

Remove batteries. Press and hold Home button for 5 seconds with no batteries. This clears stored registration data. Re-insert batteries and re-register with Fix 2 above.

Fix 4 — Check for interference

LG Magic Remote pointer uses gyroscope + Bluetooth. Other Bluetooth devices (speakers, keyboards) nearby can cause pointer drift. Temporarily switch off nearby Bluetooth devices and test.

Fix 5 — Sign in to LG ThinQ account

Voice features require LG ThinQ account sign-in. Settings → All Settings → General → LG Services Country → verify your region is set to India. Also confirm internet connection is active.
