Is your RO water purifier's water output slowing down or the pre-filter turning brown? The Vepam 10-micron PP (polypropylene) spun sediment filter is the first-stage pre-filter in most Indian RO water purifiers — protecting the RO membrane from sediment, rust, and particulate damage.

What Is a PP Spun Sediment Filter?

A PP (polypropylene) spun sediment filter is a depth-filter cartridge made by spinning thermally bonded polypropylene fibres in a graduated density pattern — tighter fibres at the centre, looser at the outside. This graduated structure traps larger particles on the outside and finer particles deeper inside, giving the filter long life and high particle-holding capacity.

Why 10 Micron for RO Pre-Filtration?

A 10-micron sediment filter removes particles down to 10 micrometres — including silt, sand, rust, and organic matter. This protects the downstream components:

  • The 5-micron carbon block (second stage) — from heavy sediment loading
  • The RO membrane — from physical damage by sharp particles
  • The pump — from sediment abrasion

When to Replace

  • Every 3 months under heavy use (high TDS or turbid water source)
  • Every 6 months under normal city municipal water supply
  • Replace immediately if water flow drops significantly

  • Vepam 10-micron PP spun sediment filter
  • Standard 10-inch housing size — fits most Indian RO purifiers

FAQ

Q: Is this compatible with Kent, Aquaguard, and other RO brands?
Yes — the standard 10-inch cartridge size fits most Indian RO purifier pre-filter housings. WhatsApp your RO brand and model for free confirmation.

Q: Should I replace all filters at once or just the sediment filter?
Best practice is to replace all pre-filters (sediment + carbon) together during annual servicing. Replace the sediment filter more frequently if your water is heavily turbid.
